Up To Our Armpits In...

So, it's been a minute since we've been on here and wrote anything so I felt that it was high time for it. Originally wanted to get an update on here at least once a week, but with the craziness of last week and now this week with Jack Frost coming at us with an ax and slaughtering Portland with snow...that leads to WHY we should be writing...what else are we gonna be doing??

So if you haven't gotten the word, we're snowed in and Amanda's car is now stuck in the snow as of 2 days ago. I mean, seriously, some snow needs to start melting :)
Amanda's work place has been closed the past 2 days and I don't have work at the moment. I am only allowed to work while I'm in school and last week was fall finals for me and my next semester starts up January 12th. So until the 12th, I'm the stay-at-home dog mom. Not like I have a choice at the moment or not though. But, no worries about my car cause I only take public trans. Paying all that $$ for parking isn't that fun, really.
But yesterday, due to some cabin fever and extreme boredom, we did venture out into Portland, via public trans and some foot action, to meet up with a friend, but boy! are we sore from it all today. Walking through 1-2 feet of snow (depending on the area) is truly a work-out. It took us 3, yes, 3 hours to get just across the bridge to the East side of Portland, but only about 1 and a half to get back across and back home. Not sure why, but I'm sure it has something to do with more people being on the streets earlier on.
So here's some pics and videoes from the past couple days for your enjoyment :)

Where's the Snow?

Today it's supposed to snow, but luckily it hasn't because Amanda is at work right now (first time she's had to work on a Saturday at her job up here). I'm not sure how icy, if at all, the streets are. But I do know that it's 38 degrees right now outside and next week there is supposed to be a freeze storm. SOUNDS FUN! (sarcasm)

Time to go stock up on some long johns and plan our snowboarding trip up to Mt. Hood (skiing for Amanda).

So The Story Is

Okay, so Amanda looooves to talk in her sleep. It usually happens right when I come to bed after her and she wakes up a little. (I'm usually a nightowl/insomniac so late nights are my unwanted friend).

Well, probably a year ago I was going to bed and she took both her hands and grabbed me by the face and said, "Santy Claus?" It took everything in my power to not laugh, but I love to go along with her when she's talking. Ya know, just keep asking questions to see if any other funny stuff comes out of her mouth :) But this time she didn't say anything else, she just went back to sleep.

One time she even said, "Cho is worth 5 points." I was like, "What?!?" I can just imagine her dreaming of our, then, only child getting hit by a car and saying, "5 points." Not cool, but it did give me a chuckle that, unbeknownst to her, she said that.

So about 3 nights ago, it happened again. I crawled into bed late as usual, leaned over for a goodnight kiss and then all I heard was, "We love our growing ducks." Surprisingly I didn't feel the need to laugh, although I knew I would later, I just wanted to see where she was going with this and I said, "Ducks?" and she came to and said, "Don't laugh at me. I don't know what I'm saying." That's a normal response, but occasionally I get a full conversation about some made-up bullcrap. LOL.

Funny story. Just wanted to share. No doubt, there will be more.

Ok Ok

Hey Errybody-
Yes, we know that Scarlet is definately the writer, reader, computer savvy one out of the two of us. And she kills spiders that get in our apartment, which is most important to me out of everything! LoL But I will also try to keep updating this thing. Hope whoever reads this, enjoys it.

laters- Amanda

P.S. Scarlet ran the story by me and it's not too embarassing so I'll let her tell it.

Without Permission

With the holidays coming up and with funds being limited, Amanda and I have decided to use our joint creativity for presents this year. Of course, I'm not going to spew what they are now, it being before Christmas and all...but as another branch of our creativity (really mine because Amanda is asleep and doesn't even know about this yet...so much for family decisions on this one) I've decided that we should have a blog to help keep in touch with our friends and family on a more personal level.
For those of you thinking, "Marriage is about making decisions together and she's starting this blog without her wife and signing her up for something she probably doesn't want anything to do with, etc.", let me just say that I'm the writer of us 2. I'd bet that 99% of the time I'll be the poster on here and I'm completely fine with that. This is probably the first thing I've done since being married without first consulting with her. Our communication, as far as big decisions...and really the little ones, has improved 400% since we got that joint bank account. LOL. Serious. :) But I love it and I love her and since we don't live close to our old friends and family anymore and myspace and facebook don't really tell a story, I think that a blog will be a great way to keep in touch with stories/pics/etc.
I have a really funny story to tell about Amanda, but I want to check with her first to see if she wants it put out there :)

Peace.
